People from more than 170 different countries live and work in the Stuttgart Region. Together with its location in the heart of Europe, this makes the Stuttgart Region a truly European and international region.

As Verband Region Stuttgart and Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation, we make an active contribution to shaping European policies in order to meet our responsibility within Europe.

The objectives of the Stuttgart Region's work in Europe are:

• To be involved in shaping European policy and funding policy
• To implement funded projects
• To gain insights through an exchange of experiences in networks
• To position the Stuttgart Region as an innovative high-tech location with a good quality of life
• To inform stakeholders in the region about current developments and funding programmes at EU level
• To support regional partners, in particular municipalities

The European topic is integrated in all business fields of daily work of Verband Region Stuttgart and the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation. Furthermore, since 2002 the Stuttgart Region has installed a European Office in Brussels.
