The region is not only an economic area, but also a living space for around 2.8 million people. The feeling of regional togetherness is promoted through culture and sport. Two important cultural and sports organizations in the region are the KulturRegion Stuttgart e. V. and the SportRegion Stuttgart e. V. The Verband Region Stuttgart is a member of both organizations and supports them financially. It is also involved in other cultural and sporting events, such as cycling and the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film with the two regionally sponsored prizes Trickstar Business Award and Trickstar Nature Award.
KulturRegion Stuttgart e.V.
The KulturRegion Stuttgart has 47 members, including 43 cities and municipalities, three associations and the Verband Region Stuttgart. It plans and organizes regional cultural projects, bundles and promotes the existing cultural offerings in the region and strengthens the cultural-political exchange between municipalities, cultural professionals and the public. The Verband Region Stuttgart currently provides 360,000 euros annually.

SportRegion Stuttgart e.V.
The SportRegion Stuttgart comprises 54 municipalities, 39 sports associations, six sports districts, the Stuttgart Olympic Training Center and the Verband Region Stuttgart. It makes an important contribution to regional sports development and location marketing. The office is currently subsidized by the Verband Region Stuttgart with 360,000 euros annually.
